Ten Books For Readers Who Like girls submerged in water

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

The last weeks been one of those weeks when you’re inspirations just seems to be somewhere else and you struggle to write down some interesting or witty words, or just a sentence or two that make sense. Well I’m not promising that this TTT will make sense, but here it is:

Ten Books For Readers Who Like …

Sometimes you pick up a book just because its cover is beautiful, intriguing or just stunning, sometimes you need a reminder of summer, sun and warmth and sometimes you just need something new and different…

Last year I needed a theme for my summer reading, I wanted to go outside my usual reading preference and since I already planned to read The Ocean…
I decided to search for more books that had a girl submerged in water (it doesn’t have anything to do with pick up book genres that I usually don’t read, but there you have it, my own personal logic, search for different subject/genres, find books with water covers).
The result – some surprisingly good books!

In other words, this week’s TTT will be all about stunning water covers! (+ girls, covers with girls and water!)

The Ocean at the end of the lane   On the fringe   Imaginary Girls

Lies Bebeth   Deep Betrayal   Promise Bound

the unbecoming of mara dyer   The evolution of mara syer   the retribution of mara dyer

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
I just fell in love with this cover!
It also gives you a hint of what to come and that always give it an extra plus.
The ocean.. are pure MAGIC! The story will live with you and your thoughts long after you finish reading it. This is a book that I sort of whish that I haven’t read so I would have the pleasure to read it for the first time again!

On the Fringe by Courtney King Walker
Lovely cover!
If you’re cup of tea is young adult, romance, mystery and a ghost story all wrapped up in one, then I think you should try this one out. It’s not the most revolutionary as stories goes, but a wonderful tale of young love, destiny, death and what you might meet on the fringe.

Imaginary Girls Nova Ren Suma
Might just be my cup of tea, paranormal, magic, horror, ghost and YA, could be a keeper.
I like the cover and it fitted with last year’s summer theme, unfortunarly it’s a book that I haven’t read yet (truth, well I didn’t find any publication of Imaginary Girls with this cover, so it’s sill on my TBR list 😉 )

Lies Beneath, Deep Betrayal, Promise Bound by Anne Greenwood Brown
Besides some beautiful covers, this story of mermaids or rather merpeople is strangely interesting, never thought that a story of mermaids would be my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it immensely.
Don’t you wish you could dive into the ocean and go for a swim when you see these covers?

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, The Evolution of Mara Dyer, The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
Stunning covers! Just stunning.
And the story, well it wasn’t even close of what I expected, but in a good way.
If you like well written story, not knowing what’s real or what’s a hallucination, if you like to be surprised and of course if strange, romantic young adult genre is your think, this is it!

There it is, my top ten books (well nine) with stunning water covers! (+ girls. covers with girls, girls under water)

Are you’re like me, sometimes pick up a book only because you like its cover?

Book Related Problems I Have

This week’s list:
Ten Book Related Problems I Have

I suppose there can be a number of book related problem in a book lover’s life, I personally don’t have any problems, no problem at all…

1. To-be-read piles, they just keeps multiplying don’t they and getting higher and higher! Honestly I think it happens overnight or when I’m at work, I tell you there is some strange things going on when I’m not watching!

2. And speaking of never ending TBR book piles, one day they will tip over, probably just in the moment I’m underneath, resulting in Death by books.

3. Death-by-books…not a good plan, I really need to read more from that TBR pile. But first I thinks it’s best if I reorganize them, then I will pick one to read. Yes that’s a good plan, organize and then read.

4. Look some new shiny books, haven’t read any from that particular author! Just let me have a look at that, just look, not to bring home… Oh well…It just came home with me, I had nothing to do with it, I promise. This means that I’ll have a go at the TBR after this new one is read and after I reorganize the piles.

5. A new book from one of my favorite authors just came out! Ohhh, I suppose I could wait for a while before I buy it, I do have some TBR piles to get through first. But I have been waiting for this one for a really long time…
You know what, I’ll just read this one and after it’s the new and shiny one, THEN I will pick one from the TBR, but after I’ll reorganize the piles.

This is of course not me I’m talking about. Oh no!
It’s just a few example of book related problems one MIGHT have.
I promise.
Now I just have to go and reorganize some piles…

Top Ten Dystopian Series I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read

It’s Tuesday, again! Wasn’t it just yesterday I wrote about books to read with my book club?
I suppose on a positive note, that makes it one more week closer to spring. Sooo tired of cold and snow, I want sun, warmth, spring and colors! But still February and time for this weeks TTT.

This week’s list:

Ten Dystopian Series I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read

Well here’s the thing, I’m somewhat of an period-genre-reader, for a while it was all fantasy, then science fiction, then via fantasy (again) it was Urban fantasy, then all things vampire, all things zombies… and so on and so forth. But for a couple of year now it’s been mostly books from the post apocalyptic and dystopian genre. I say mostly, there is just so much misery, darkness and never ending pain a girl can take, right?

Luckily for me, dystopian is sort of the In Thing right now, so there are plenty books to read and discover. Why have I missed some of today’s big dystopian titles? The answer, well I like shiny things, and look over there it’s a new book….

1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I know, I know, I should have read this series by now, Oh I really should.
But, well, this is embarrassing, haven’t even seen the movies either…Ummm, let’s skip to the next book, shall we.

2. Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
This one been on my TBR list for what feels like forever, started on it a couple of times but never come around to actually finish it. Strange, a dystopian story with paranormal elements should really be my cup of tea..

3. Maze Runner by James Dashner
Totally missed this one when it came out, it wasn’t until I read about it becoming a movie that I, “well that might be interesting…”

4. The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan
Why, why haven’t I read this series?! Its dystopien and Zombies, hello! Zombies! I don’t have an answer, I just haven’t read it.

5. Legend by Marie Lu
A typical Dystopian story, good reviews keeps turning up, maybe I should have a go at it.

6. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Cinderella as a Cyborg?
I was first skeptical, but now, well maybe I should put it on one of my TBR lists.

7. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
One more from that famous TBR list, aliens and dystopian, I simply must make some time for it!

8. Linked by Imogen Howson
I do love a story set in a future that on the surface “seems” to be utopian…

Since there is two slots left I will end this list with two classics. The ting is, I of all people should have read these long ago, mostly because in a sense they are some of the books that “made” the genre. Simply put, strong books that deserves to be read!

9. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
10. 1984 by George Orwell

There you have it, today’s list. Some books I really should have read by now, some just waiting to-be-read and one or two will undoubtedly in the end stay at the list; Series I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read!

How about you, are you like me, all good intention and then a book comes along, and then another one, and another, then you sort of forgot about the first book and it will end on some list with books you should have read, but haven’t.
